I recently completed my M.A. in Museum and Exhibition Studies (MUSE) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). For my thesis project, I partnered with Chicago non-profit One Heart One Soul and four young adults with lived experience of homelessness to organize an exhibition at UIC’s 5th Floor Gallery. The exhibition, titled Transition, was highlighted by multiple news outlets, such as the Chicago Reader and a local radio station, for its innovative structure and important goal of shedding light on an oft-ignored social issue. I earned the Social Justice Award for 2020, a distinction awarded to two outstanding students from each graduating cohort.
